What do you do and who are you?
I am Kalle Pirilä, 27 years old, final year student of mechanical engineering at Vaasa University of Applied Sciences. I am a positive and outgoing person who gets along with everyone.
Everything related to technology has been close to my heart since childhood. That’s why studying mechanical engineering was an easy choice when I decided to go back to school a few years ago.
My MSc studies have given me a good foundation in understanding machines and programming, and I’m excited to put them into practice. The thesis project is a great opportunity to combine theory and practice.
I have received a warm welcome at Fintos and immediately felt part of the team. Everyone involved in the project has provided tremendous support and guidance with the project. Cooperation has been smooth and open, allowing for a smooth exchange of ideas and the generation of new ideas.
I am currently working on my thesis at Fintos, where I am investigating the use of PLC programming in hydraulic applications. PLC programming allows for more accurate and efficient operation compared to traditional mechanical or manual systems. In the project, we also try to assess things from a future perspective, for example, how applications work with robots.
In my free time, I play a variety of sports and spend time with my friends. In the summer, I like to relax by fishing and riding my motorbike.
