Typical working day
Mornings usually always start the same way; I pick up the day’s newspapers from the mailbox and drive the van out of the hall, after which I continue with the other typical morning chores. After my morning coffee, it’s time for the rest of the day’s work, which can vary quite a bit depending on how busy I am, so here’s a rundown of what I’ve been up to over the summer!
I was hired as part of a warehouse refurbishment project and one of the tasks was to design new shelf labels, as well as remove old labels from shelves and add new ones in their place. I also took inventory of products to be removed and otherwise checked stock balances for accuracy. In addition to this, I did a lot of other tasks as assigned.
I also worked in the goods receiving area and received parcels and pallets that had arrived in the warehouse. My responsibility has been to manage Fintos’ social media accounts, so the posts from the summer are mainly my handwriting. Occasionally, I was also an assistant in the sub-assembly and did things like valve assemblies.
I’ve had a really interesting summer and I’ve had time to do a lot of different things in my job. I have gained a lot of experience and learned a lot of new things. The summer came and went in a flash while I was working here, the time went by quickly with a good team and a variety of tasks.
You might see me hanging around Fintos in the autumn as I continue to work part-time alongside school.
